Takin’ It to the Streets is an international festival where artistic expression, spirituality and urban creativity inspire social change. This year’s ‘Streets festival will commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy in Marquette Park, using the power of art, activism and relationship-building to radically re-imagine “the world as it could be”. The 1000 Mile March will lead into Marquette Park that morning, kicking off the festival.

Takin’ It to the Streets will engage thousands of people through music, dance, family activities, inspirational talks, and a vibrant bazaar, while fostering a space for guests to deeply engage civil and social justice issues of our day.

Takin’ it to the Streets is produced by the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN), a globally recognized community organization that that fosters health, wellness and healing in the inner-city by organizing for social change, cultivating the arts and operating a holistic health center.
